A time to be reaping, a time to be sowing

The green leaves of summer are calling me home

It was good to be young then in the season of plenty

When the catfish were jumping as high as the sky.

 

추수하던 그 시절, 씨를 뿌리던 그 시절

여름날의 푸른 잎새들은 나를 고향으로 부르고 있답니다

젊었던 그 시절 풍성한 계절은 참으로 좋았어요

메기가 하늘높이

뛰어오르곤 했던 그 시절에는 말입니다.   

 

A time just for planting, a time just for plowing

A time to be courting a girl of your own

It was so good to be young then, to be close to the earth

And to stand by your wife, at the moment of birth.   

 

씨를 뿌리던 그 시절, 밭을 갈던 바로 그 시절

마음에드는 아가씨에게 사랑을 고백하던 그 시절

젊었던 그 시절은 좋았었어요

드넓은 대지에 가까이 있었고 출산하는 아내 옆을

지키고 있던 것은 참으로 행복했었어요
